As an artist, I am always looking for ways to honor the natural beauty of the materials I work with. This piece began as a beautiful slab of olive wood, rich with character, movement, and history.
Rather than transforming it into sculpture, I chose to explore a more functional expression of the material. By preserving its live edge, natural grain, and organic shape, the wood becomes both art and everyday object.
What I love most about olive wood is that no two pieces are ever alike. Every curve, line, and variation tells a story written by nature over decades. My role is simply to reveal that story while respecting the integrity of the material.
Whether displayed as a charcuterie board, serving piece, or decorative object, this work reflects the same philosophy that guides my sculptures: honoring nature’s design rather than competing with it.
Sometimes the most powerful statement is not what we add, but what we choose to preserve.
