Serene Ascent blog

This Month in Art – April

As spring comes along, let’s enjoy the sweet smell in the air, the sounds of the birds, and the hints of warm summer to come. It is indeed a time of rebirth and of new beginnings to be winding down as our outward expression gets ready to take a rest as we go within to the time of renewal, a time to stay dedicated to yourself and enjoy life feeling into the preciousness of your energy. As others say, “Springtime is the land awakening and the March winds are the morning yawn.”

Divine Creation III by sculptor Dorit Schwartz (60x44x13 inches)
Divine Creation
White Quartz, Tamarind Wood, with High-Polish Stainless Steel Base and Lights
60 x 44 x 13 inches

“The brilliance of the quartz emanating from its petrified cradle, pressing ever so slightly against its womb-like walls, calls forth the promise of perpetual new. The glimmer of something not yet touched by intention or tainted by expectation is, by its own merit, the essence of hope…a new starting point in a world full of unforeseeable endings.”

Serene Ascent
Quartz, Mahoni Wood  High Polished Stainless Steel Base, Lights
29 x 30 x 16 in

“Why walk within the bounds of expectation when my mind was made to soar amongst the heavens? Oh, the envy that great Daedalus and Icarus must feel, the jealousy of jet planes and scorn of sky rockets is merely my fuel as I embark upon my serene ascent into the great above.”
